Two weeks old!

This is by NO means an attempt at a professional looking picture... just a snapshot of what I thought was a sweet moment (both kids sleeping at the same time during the day is pretty sweet!). Anyway, I'm her mom, of course I think she's the prettiest little girl in the world! Oh, yeah, she likes to snuggle with soft things up to her face and usually snags the burp cloth after we finish feeding her. It's pretty funny how their little personalities come through at such a young age.

1st day in red!!

Cute little girl!! (I just realized that I haven't taken any pictures of her big brother in a while... poor Jackson. My explanation: He isn't old enough to want to hold her, so pictures together are near impossible. I remember to take pictures when he is taking his naps, so she is the one available. Plus, I have more pictures of him than I know what to do with and he isn't changing as drastically as she is from day to day. However, I will try my best to take some more of him, because that's only fair!)

Big, nakey baby... 10 lbs.!

All of her little pink outfits are so cute, but I wanted a record of what she looked like without her clothes on... she really is a sturdy little girl! We went to the doctor today to get a prescription to treat thrush. She weighed... birth: 9lb 2oz / 4 days: 9lb 3oz / 9 days: 9lb 11oz / 12 days old (today): 10 pounds! This girl knows how to eat! The nurses and her doctor tease that she could live a day or two off of her cheeks alone.

One week old... 1st Sunday

A Sunday photo shoot...
I am trying to hurry and have her wear her Newborn-sized clothes because most of them are already on the small end. (Thank goodness they don't usually stretch their legs out when they're this young!) Speaking of, apparently I was overprepared for the arrival of my late baby because I bought Newborn-sized diapers and they all but cut off the circulation in her legs. We put them away and are sticking with Size 1.


Jackson was watching Tarzan in Baby Kate's carseat, but of course tried to jump out when he realized that I was going to take his picture.

Can you say, proud Daddy? Parker is a major baby hog! He holds her every chance he gets... I think it's mostly because Jackson is so quirmy now (as compared to infancy) that he's not really a snuggler, so Parker is taking advantage of this snuggling stage with his little girl.

An attempt to get some pictures with "Big Brother" and "Little Sister" shirts. Well, Jackson isn't really old enough to hold his sister "safely" and although he loves to give her kisses, he gets a little wiggly when she is sitting next to him. I'm sure in time, we'll be able to get a good picture.
(Notice I even tried to bribe him...)

Baby Kate is 5 days old

Sorry it's taken me a while to get these up. I am extremely sore (no details necessary) and we're not in our own house... officially our 4th move in 2 months. Poor Parker has been running around like a crazy person trying to accomplish (on his own) a work load that would have made us both tired. It has been awful knowing that I can't physically help with so many things when our temporary home needs to be organized and I am one who often likes to do everything myself. Oh, well. We all have to learn patience somehow, right?


As for the kids, they are doing great. We are getting into an easy routine, as Baby Kate seems to prefer eating and sleeping to anything else. Jackson has been sleeping until 8:15am every morning and still takes 2 naps for 2 hours at a time (although I don't think it will be much longer before he merges them into one longer nap). Kate is on about a 4 hour feeding schedule and sleeps in between. Both kids have such great personalities. He is fun and energetic and so sweet (loves to give his sister kisses) and she is so easy-going. Hopefully, that will continue. Parker went back to work today and I did pretty well on my own, but have to admit, I am quite sore from doing so much on my own today. I am looking forward to recovering fully so that I can be more energetic for Jackson! In the meantime, I am enjoying my little family. I couldn't ask for anything more!




I know this is a weird picture, but I wanted to get her feet. It doesn't really show how long they really are. You'll just have to see her in person to understand. Her fingers match too... maybe she'll be tall.

Jackson has been so cute with Kate. He is very curious, but mostly just does his own thing. I am still trying to recover... big baby = more painful recovery. Luckily, I have been blessed with the best husband ever who is taking such good care of our little family.
